Apparently I take selfies and photos of Charlotte. That’s all. I’m not really ashamed of it. She’s really cute, and I’m hilariously awkward, both of which make fantastic blog content, so, whatevs.
We got a bit of a warm spell the last few days (warm = 45 degrees. I’m rolling my eyes at you, California.), and Charlotte literally cried to go outside. She laughed and ran around with sticks in her hands and yelled for Daysie for a good 20 minutes before she went to the door and nodded her head, which clearly meant, “I’m done, Mom. Let’s go back inside.”
months years of threatening my hair stylist that if she cut off more hair than a TINY LITTLE TRIM I’d surely punch her, I finally decided I was over the Duggar-long hair. Honestly, she only cut off a few inches, and it’s still so long it gets stuck in my armpits, but it’s a much-needed change, and I may even go a tad shorter in a month or two. Maybe.
Evan and I went on a very rare date a few nights ago, sipping soup at Panera (because my jaw was -and still is- stuck. More on that later.), sitting way too close to the screen at American Sniper (doesn’t matter – it was so good!), and drinking Coke that made me feel super awful for the rest of the night. It’s hard to find time for the two of us to get out alone (& the guts to ask my Mom to watch ALL THREE KIDS), so it was nice. I even wore lipstick and false eyelashes, which was a little over-the-top for fast food and a war movie, but that’s how I roll.
Sometimes, I feel like there’s too much going on in our days, and sometimes, I feel like there’s nothing more than being awake (to which, I’m not always opposed). But, in general, it’s been good around here. I know I haven’t blogged in so long, so I’m planning some more update posts. Because Charlotte is growing, I have a human wiggling around inside me, and there’s just too much I don’t want to forget.
